What a Week??
Sorry i’m late with this blog, i’ve had a manic couple of week’s with the web site going live, my second birthday and Cake international. So where to begin?
This year Cake International (CI) ran from Friday 1st November to Sunday 3rd of November at the NEC in Birmingham. As usual celebrity cake makers were in attendance, as well as cake makers of all standard from all over the globe. CI in Birmingham is the biggest Cake exhibition word wide and so it attracts tens of thousands of visitors. You have to have deep pockets if you like the latest products as CI is where most new and innovative products are showcased. I went with a shopping list and a clear budget this year, but with the help of Jo (yes she is a bad influence) we went over the budget. The edible glitter was just too much of a temptation. Although my Christmas lines will be super sparkly 🙂
There was Two Show stopping pieces this year, Tuba Geckil’s life-size creation of Villanelle from BBC drama ‘Killing Eve’ and a Life-sized Lorek the Armoured Bear from ‘His Dark Materials by Emma Jane. The competition entries this year were again of a really high standard, even the childrens categories were fantastic. I have put a link at the end of this CI blog. Why not have a click through at the many different categories and take a look at the high standard. I am thinking of entering a cake next year, although which categories i have no idea yet.
Short and sweet for my first blog since the website went live 11 days ago. Do check out the fantastic picture on the CI website, or my facebook page, where i have put lots of my personal image
